Grateful for Co-Pay Existence

 

I receive an infusion every 4 weeks to keep my Crohns Disease in Remission.  Most people do well with 8 or 6 week's between treatment, but not me.  Had to be different.  

We have a deductible of $4000 per person or $6000 for the family.  This is actually better than what we have had in recent years, was double these amount.  This dollar amount can be met by a combination of my DH and myself or one of us.    I have already met the 4K deductible due to my infusion.  In the past plans, I also met the deductible amount due to my first infusion of the year.  

What made it easier to swallow is that I have received copay assistance of $20,000 a year.  It is from the Entyvio Connect program.  I've received my deductible plus some for my first infusion, and moving forward I'm responsible for 20% until we hit the family deductible.  Then 100% is covered.  

I share this information not only for those suffering from Crohns or UC, but as a reminder to anyone dealing with high prescription costs.  Please ask your provider or research yourself co-pay assistance.  It is truly a blessing.
