Getting Ready for That Titanium Hip, and How it Affects Crohn's Treatment

 

I had my Entyvio infusion 2 days ago.   I won't have my next one until four weeks after surgery, which means I will be double my usual time between infusions.  

This concerns me, but it is what it is.  My GI Specialist (who I love) also feels that I need another colonoscopy as a year ago is when we went to infusion every 4 weeks.  At that time there was still active disease, meaning I wasn't in Remission.  He wants to see if every 28 days is working the way it should to put me in remission.  My C reactive (inflammation count) is through the roof, but that could be from my arthritis situation. 

The colonoscopy has to scheduled within two weeks of my infusion too, so timing is important.  If I am still in active disease we will have to consider a different form of treatment. 

Hopefully, I will be ok with no treatment for 8 weeks.  I can see that making recovery from hip replacement even more of a challenge.  We shall see!
