I know, I have been absent from posting. Elder care, my own health, and holiday season activities.
My health is on the back burner. Still getting infusions, hopefully one more corisone shot and trying to push through the pain with excercise and grit.
Pops aka Gpa P has oral cancer that has invaded his jaw bone. First and Second Opinions (we spent 10 hours this week at Sloane Kettering Cancer Center in NYC) all say the same thing. Major surgery, partial removal of jaw (right side) reconstructive surgery followed by radiation and probably chemo.
That sounds so cut and dry. He is of course terrified. There are no other curative options. Ultimately this surgery is his best chance.
It's all overwhelming for him (all of use really) So many uncertainties, schedules changing, not paying enough attention to our Mom or the Uncle (who is the only person not wanting his brother to do the surgery, or so it seems)
