Our 1/4 of a locally raised beef cow!
We have enjoyed all of the proteins we have purchased from a local Farmer. When he announced that he will have beef (1/4 or 1/2 cow) and Pork (entire pig) we went for the beef.
We will be getting approximately 125 lbs of beef. We get to choose the cuts we want, it is all USDA inspected and the price of $8 per pound (an amazing price) covers butcher fees. The cow will be harvested (aka butchered) beginning of November.
We plan on:
Boneless Stew Meat
Ground Beef
Roasts (top, bottom, eye)
Tenderloin Roast
Sirloin Tips
Soup Bones
Steaks (various cuts)
Husband will determine exactly what we get on our custom form. We can also choose to get it fresh or frozen. I think frozen is best, as we don't have to spend energy getting it frozen. Based on what we think this may become a yearly plan.
