Would you look at the size of this celery
Home has been a whirling tornado. We are all continuing to work around the needs of the elders. Uncle is still the neediest, though Gpa P aka Pops is the one who needs us more. He never asks for help, and stays to himself.
Uncles latest CT scan shows the Brain bleed has resolved. Thank goodness. Neurosurgery at his age is not to be taken lightly. He still needs PT several times a week. His personal assistant (from his career days) still does things for him on a part time basis. She is flying out from the west coast and staying with him full time for the next 10 weeks starting mid September. They will go to his home, and she and I will help him plan for what comes next regarding home health care, PT etc. I have already schooled him on Instacart. We have talked about upscale assisted living, visiting aids, live in help. Also a life alert type system with fall detection (that is a definite yes) and potentially a stair lift. I have to admit, I am so grateful she is coming to help us through the future appointments and planning.
Pops has had 3 oral biopsies this week. We are waiting for results to make the plan of treatment. We are hoping the oral surgeon can do it, which would keep him out of Yale Smilow for the time being. He has a different area biopsy later in the month. Every thing moves so slowly.
I thank you for all the kind messages. It has bolstered all of our spirits.
