Valentino Farms Local Farm Meat Purchase

 I have always known that Valentino farms was a nursery, plants, veggie starts, flowers, annuals and perennials.     I found out by accident that they also raised beef and pork locally.  Right in my hometown.   A mutual friend had been tagged in a post about pork boxes. 

I purchased approximately 16.5 pounds of pork.  For $150.00 we received a pound of bacon, 2 fresh pork ham steaks, 4 bone in pork chops, sausage link, loose ground sausage,  Pork shoulder, pork butt, 2 blade steaks, ground pork.  

I also purchased 10 pounds of ground beef, individually packed and frozen in one pound packages. $80

Total spent was $230 cash AND one of the owners delivered the product to my door.  All products were USDA processed at a local meat processing plant in Stafford Springs.  All products were wrapped in heavy shrink wrap and frozen.

We are talking about getting 1/2-1/4 cow in the fall, and this is an example of what we would get for a 1/2 cow at $7.00 a pound.
