So exciting! FarmerJoesGarden The first few weeks are a bit 'iffy' with what you can get. You could delete everything they put in your cart and start from scratch. Since I'm growing Kale (they had 2 different kinds in my cart) I deleted those. They had 2 pounds of Greenhouse tomatoes in my cart, I lowered it to 1. We don't care for the cheese as its raw, and I'm afraid to risk it with my Crohns. I also pulled out the honey they had, as we have lots of honey at home.
After deducting all of these items, I added a potted herb garden (they did this last year, I love that they are doing it again) and Royal Trumpet Mushrooms. They applied my full share weekly amount, and I have to bring a balance due of .83 cents at pickup.
They are now using their own platform for their store and share holders. I hope it works out well for them, so far so good on my end. I found out later that they originally did their own platform before they used Harvey. I wonder why they switched out of their own. They are back in it as Harvey has closed.
With that aside, I thought I would share with you photos (finally did photos of the farm!) I didn't get everything, but will take more as the weeks go on. Enjoy!
One of the green houses and the gift area of their store
My 'basket'
Mushrooms, Swiss Chard 1# of tomatoes, eggs under the focaccia (paid extra for two of these)
And the chicks! So adorable. Did you know they offer a rent a chick program? For a flat fee they deliver a coop, chickens and all you need for a set length of time, to see if you are ready to be a chick parent.
I also received an Herb Garden (and purchased another for my daughter while there) I will post a photo of that in another post. As a member, the 'prices' in my basket are a bit less than in store. They also have a 'points' system, where you can earn free items or $ off. They are a generous farm.
