As we start growing, it's time to think of preserving with my favorite pieces of equipment

Here are my yearly used items for food preserving.

I have been quite pleased with this electric pressure canner that I purchased in 2023.  It's great to use daily when you feel like preserving in small amounts.  I have done quarts and pints, and can also be used as a water canner.    It's also great as it doesn't heat the house up.

Presto Electric Pressure Canner

I have had this since 2022.  I have purchased some extra screens since then, but I rely on this for herbs and other veggies.  Currently Amazon has a $15 coupon for this item when this was posted.

When it's time to water bath a large amount of tomatoes, we go outside and use my handy two burner propane stove.  It keeps the heat out of the house.  The neighbors are used to seeing me camped out in the driveway when it's canning season.  I purchased this in 2022.  The tank is not included.

Of course you also need extra large pots, canning jars and lids.  I see lots of free jars on Facebook and Craigslist, or reasonably priced.  I advise always to check carefully for cracks or chips.  You will always need new lids.

I hope I have been helpful with sharing the items that I use every year.  As an Amazon affiliate, I will get a small payment if you purchase any of these items through my links.  It will not affect the price you pay.

  1. The resto Electric Canner really interests me. I have wondered if they worked well. I have two Excalibur dehydrators that I am in love with! It is dehydrating time. I would get the camp stove, but I doubt my torn rotator cuff will work well. It is very nice to have tools to do the work we need to do.
