More asparagus this morning.
DS worked on the front porch flower beds, cleaning them up of dead wood. I did the wildflower area in the back, the raised beds in the back and the scent garden behind the garage. Things are looking good. I feel like we are way ahead of cleanup this year.
Today I planted seeds of looseleaf lettuce, baby kale, swiss chard and of course more broccoli rabe.
Very happy to see that the Concord Grape Vine I had planted bareroot last fall is doing well. I will be planting a second one (this one seedless) once I get my Stark Bros. order. Also getting 25 more strawberry plants and 10 Asparagus Plants.
I am always adding these every year as my goal is to be swimming in asparagus over the year. There is a wooded property in my town that was an asparagus farm in the 50's and 60's. I always mentioned it to anyone with me when we drove by. My daughter says I'm the new asparagus farm in town.
I also spread 5 lbs of pollinator wildflower seed mix. I have certain areas of the yard I just want to be full of color and texture. I can then have fresh flowers in the house more often.
