Daughter moving to her own place (again)

My adventurous daughter has lived in more states than all our relatives combined.   A lot of the moves were completely on her own.  Vermont, New Hampshire, Rhode Island, Colorado and back to us here in Connecticut.  She was on her own by 19 years of age, and just turned 32.

She has lived with roommates, on her own, couch hopped, house rentals in Colorado with a partner, when that ended she had her own apartment for several years.  She has worked at a resort, USPS, and medical equipment and drug companies in quality control and shipping.   No she is in hospital as inventory specialist with Cath Lab.  We are so proud of her.   Moving to the New London County Area.

She is downsizing from her last apartment by half the square footage. The cost of this new smaller space is still $300 more a month than her larger apartment in Colorado.  Welcome back to Connecticut!  But the plus side is,  instead of an hour commute one way, she will now be only 4 minutesd 2 minutes! from work.  2 hours back she is getting to her day.   Plus living with her parents, aunt and grandfather I'm sure has gotten old.

Today she gets the keys.  Her car is packed, my car is packed.  I'm driving out there to arrive around 4 pm.  She plans on staying there tonight, even though no furniture yet.  The movers are coming later in the week.  I am home today and when they come to lead the pack.  It will be nice to spend some one on one time with her.

We are keeping his Majesty for a few days.  she is coming to get him on Thursday

DH drove back with her to help get the last of her items and his Majesty into his new home.  He adjusted beautifully.  We had dinner with her, and then DH and I went home.  Another stressful situation done!

I have to say, her apartment building (just 12 units total) is so quiet!  I have been there at all hours.  It was nice to know that she is in a quite different apartment building then in Colorado.  Colorado apartment was in a party building.

Nice to know she is getting settled, and only a little over an hour away.  So much better than a plane ride.
