February Grocery Prices Paid

 


These are only for foodstuffs, no cleaning or health/beauty items.  We have been eating more from the pantry and freezers.  My hope is to get the big chest freezer emptied out so I can defrost and clean it.  I get anxious though, when I see a good price on meats.  Don't want to pay more than I have to. 


January 26, BJ's Wholesale  $160.07         6 gallons of water (now also using filtered water from fridge and Brita pitchers) , 22 oz Late July Tortilla chips, 2# baby carrots, 32 oz of French Onion Dip, 2 bags of Ruffles Potato Chips, 3.5# Ling Ling Chicken and Vege Potstickers, Willow Tree Premium Chicken Salad, 1.75# teeny tiny cukes, 14 CT Mission Zero carbs sundried tomato tortilla, Brazi bites gluten free cheese bread bites, Premier Protein frozen pancakes, Mi Nina Tortilla Chips, 2# Kraft Mexican style cheese blend, 3 chopped salad kits, 2 dozen England's best eggs (OMG egg prices) 3# Hillshire Farm little smokies, 25 oz Marie's blue cheese dressing, 35 pk Coke Zero cans and 2# crescent rolls. 

January 29, Aldis  $42.92    32 oz egg whites, dozen eggs, 1/2 gallon milk, # butter, 15 oz Spreadable butter, 14 oz instant mashed potatoes (for a recipe) 5 chopped salad kits, 1/5# bananas and 2 cucumbers. 

February 7 BJ's Wholesale   183.97      3.5#stew beef (froze 2 freezer bag with a pound each, used the rest in a meal) 2 Olive Garden Italian Dressing, 18 oz blueberries, 48 count Jimmy dean Turkey sausage, large bag croutons, 6 pack of Bumble Bee Prime Fillet Solid Tuna, 3 pack wholly guacamole, 2 pack Spreadable cream cheese, 2 lbs broccoli, 2 Simply orange OJ, 2 pk Martin's Potato Bread, 4 dozen Egglands best eggs, 10 pack starkist light tuna in pouches, 10 lbs potatoes, 3 bags of bakery bagels, large loaf of Jewish seeded rye, 10# ground beef (divided into 1# packages) 

February 10 $54.51 (due to many different issues, I did a last minute Stop Shop shop) DD first day in her new position should have a good lunch to bring.  Was working to late to want to prepare anything from scratch.  Two 40 ounce jars Raos sauce, 2 large Caesar salad kits (she only likes romaine) 2 Daves English muffins, Nellie's hard boiled eggs (JUST AWFUL) and 2 pom pomegranate juice.  

Modern Milkman $27.99 for 64 oz whole milk, 32 oz sweet cream, 4 boars head sausage patties and 8 oz butter. 

February 17 $97.16 Aldi 4 pack each strawberry and raspberry yogurts.  8 oz mild cheddar cheese, 3 pack of each Deli Beef bites with cheddar, turkey bites with cheddar, turkey bites with Colby jack.  (2) 64 ounce apple juice.  1 dozen eggs and 32 oz carton egg whites, #butter, 15 oz Spreadable butter, 3 hummus and pretzel cracker kits, (2) mini cups of guacamole.  6 pk of Oh Snap Dill Bites.  20 count of potato hash brown patties, 2 # ground pork, 5 chopped salad kits, 3# onions and 10# potatoes.  

Modern Milkman $29.99 for 64 oz whole milk, 4 boars head sausage patties, spicy cheddar rye crackers (extra dollar DH wanted) Sourdough English muffins (I wanted extra dollar) 

MM is a treat we only do for a few weeks.  I think the dairy is superior, and until our farm share kicks in, this is how we decided to get our milk.  

February 24 Stop and Shop  $44.13  1.75 pounds chicken breast boneless, 3.5 pounds bone in pork chops, wild ones tomatoes, 2  Sunkist zero twelve packs and a bag of Cole slaw mix.  The slaw was free with a add to card offer and I had $4 in store bucks. 

February 25 BJ's Wholesale       Whole Harvestland chicken, 32 oz sour cream, gallon whole milk, 6 chopped salad kits. Four 6 packs of bakery bagels and 2 pk of Whipped Cream cheese.  I paid $27.93 out of pocket for this order.  I had over 45 dollars in rewards.  

Regular grocery purchases $624.54 total regular purchases in the month of February    approx $31 per person (5 adults) plus some add'l meals sent to two elders.  

Entertainment (Super Bowl Eats) $177      Tray of Eggplant Rollatini, 5 stuffed breads, Foccaccia, Round Italian loaf, chicken cutlets, ham pie plus lemon wafers. Also boiled up some shrimp from the freezer with cocktail sauce we already had in the fridge.   Wafers were for me, heehee.  We ate this for 7 adults on the day of (brought some to DM), sent leftovers home with Uncle as well as several lunches meals throughout the week for 4 of us. 

Total dollars spent for both regular grocery and entertainment grocery was $801.54

I need to reign things in.   Soon I will be growing veggies in the back yard and we also have our farm share.
