Using Up What is in the Garage Fridge/Freezer

Our next refrigerator purchase will be a winter able freezer.  I am disappointed that though we have in a corner that is insulated on both sides, and is against Gpa P's bedroom wall it still doesn't stay frozen over the colder time of year.  The fridge still works fine.

So, everything worth moving has been moved.  Frozen yogurts had to be thrown out as they were to soft to save.

With a chicken carcass and vegetable scraps I made stock.  I strained it this morning, added onion, carrot and corn from the garage freezer, added a can of pink beans and voila!  Dinner.

3 bananas and a quart of blueberries became blueberry banana bread.  More fruit than bread.  No sugar added, but did put a big squeeze of honey in it.

Comments

  1. Is this freezer not made for cold weather? Or, is it just dying prematurely?

  2. The fridge/freezer is only 2 years old, but we didn't get one that works best in cold weather. That will be the next time around, will surely make sure it will work in our cold temperatures.
