Well, I failed. The white 'scum' that was to be expected started to turn blue. I think I needed to fill the jar much higher than I did, and needed to put more of a 'cover' of a cabbage leaf under the glass weight.

I purchased this last Prime Day, never used it.
Now that I have cabbage growing, I thought it was the perfect time to try my hand at saurkraut and perhaps other fermenting.
I thinly sliced the cabbage
Salted it
Mashed it
Mashed it More
Started Packing and Smashing in
This is the book that came with the kit
Now we Wait!
Cannot believe all that liquid came out of the cabbage!
If I could eat fermented food, I would try fermenting, too.
