Chicken Share from Muddy Roots Farm

 

These chickens are the best tasting birds I have ever had.  Yes, they cost a bit more (more than a bit if I'm being honest) but they are organically raised, free range and locally harvested.  I personally know the farmers.  Muddy Roots Farm. Been dealing with them for years.  I'm supporting a local business and knowing exactly where my food is coming from.  

Last year I did the smallest share they had.  

This year I did the largest.  Sharing it with a friend.  We each will get 55 lbs of whole chicken.  Half this weekend and half in September.   Each chicken is approximately 5 lbs.  So almost a chicken per month.  For $5.40 a pound (discounted from the regular price as we bought such a quantity and paid in advance)

I honestly contemplated doing so, as sharing the word might make the product less available. 

But they are to good of a farm to keep secret.
