Bee Hive at Kauffman's

As mentioned in the previous post, we are in PA for business/pleasure, and I'm scoping out food costs/increases.

Yoders Cabbage .89 a pound, Kauffmann's .79 a pound and Centerville Bulk Foods .69 (and the best looking)

At Centerville I previously purchased 12 pounds of Nolts flour for 5.99.   Today the same bag was 10.49.  Light and Dark Brown Sugars were .89 a pound.  Cocoa was 3.19 a pound.  White Sugar was 1.00 a pound.  Sugar and Cocoa were stocked, very little flour (white, wheat, red, rye)  Abundance of nuts, nut butters and nut flours.

Spices and Baking Mixes though still cheaper than home did go up in price.

I got a few super deals. Dark Rye Flour at .50 a pound (Kauffman's) .  I bought 5 lbs.  Regular Oats .59 a pound (Centerville) , just over 10 lbs.  I will freeze both for 24 hours and then transfer to glass.

Kauffman's Cider was definitely cheaper at the source.  Half what I spent at Yoders over the weekend.  Special price of $5.00 per gallon at Kauffman's.   Oats were 1.39 a pound.  Cornmeal was .84 a pound. Complete Chili Soup Mix that I couldn't find for ages and then found at Allbulkfoods.com for 4.99 a pound is now $6.30 a pound here.

All purchases at Kauffman's were dry goods, flour, nuts, jam, beans, fig bars and cookies for ice cream sandwiches.  $35.93

Centerville was a mix of products, Crackers, Onions, Cheeses, Chips, Pretzels, Cereal (2.5 pounds of Oat Circles $3.89 purchased vs. Cheerios 18 ounces $5.99) $92.98 spent.
