We did look at properties this trip.  We now know we definitely want certain towns, properties are rare where we want to be, we need to start thinking about attending property auctions.  Seems more of what we want is sold via Auction. You see very few 'For Sale' signs as we see all over Connecticut.  We also have to be cognizant of how challenging it can be to purchase an Amish property.  We value our technology and I don't want to have to rewire a house.  So again, we are limited.

We did consider purchasing a B and B.  After much discussion and research we have decided not to do this.  We may get a property with a separate rental property.  But a 6 room B and B is not something we want to plan for.  I also was disappointed that things that I want in an older home (with a cooking fireplace) the honeycomb and bread ovens were bricked over!  And made to look like they were still usable.  Also, we have noticed how many large B and B's are available in the area we love.  I think Airbnb has really hurt this industry....not something we want to invest in at this point in our lives.  We want to enjoy our someday retirement home.  Not be killed by it.
