Planned purchases in PA

Each trip we plan on what we will be looking for/purchasing on our next trip.    We also set a budget.

We wanted a trash cabinet, a medicine cabinet, large bread box and an herb drying rack.  Also a 3 foot reclaimed wood shelf for over our kitchen sink (like we got last trip)  Still wrapped in plastic so no picture yet.

We did a price shopping trip and hit over a dozen commercial and home business locations.  We know we got the best prices.

$22 for this beautifully crafted herb drying rack.  It has a catch basin which I realized I really needed.

This medicine cabinet was hard to find.  It is very good quality.  Opens and closes easily with magnetic locks.  Beautiful hardware, a towel rack (you can see better when hanging) and a cubby. Hand made, beautifully stained.  $185.00.  There were cheaper one's, but this one is definitely the best quality.

Trash bin holder.  DH wanted something that would blend in more with our décor.  $145.  We found equal quality for over $300.  Not at that price! Also hand made/stained with lovely copper hand hammered door front.  Also has a drawer and came with a pail too.

This large handmade bread box was on clearance for $70 (regular price $120)  I couldn't find anything wrong with it.  It's huge, and I love that there is lots of circulation of air from the back panel.  Also has the copper hand stamped panel in the door.

  1. Those are very pretty and pricey. However, you won't be replacing it like plastic ones. Does the medicine cabinet have a lock.

    1. Even at these prices they are pricey. I agree. We did get the best prices we could find, and we planned on these purchases. We never purchase right away on these trips, we go home and measure, discuss and confirm what we want. We buy quality to last. And no lock on the medicine chest. No need at this stage in our lives.
