Our yard and gardening

Wild Turkey

A new houseguest
There are eggs, I have insisted no one use the front porch.   It's going to be a long summer.
 Robin's Nest

The garden

How does your yard look today?
As mentioned by a reader, the bird nest is now a potential fire hazard.
To remind us all not to 'flick the switch' I did this
And now I want to clean all my light switches because that looks dirty.

  1. A neighbor of mine had a nest on his front porch also, right above the porch light, just like you have. he and his wife thought it was so cute.
Till one evening, he flicked his porch light on, and a spark from the electricity set the nest on fire. He and his wife were amazed at how fast their house burned down before the fire department got to them. They were even more amazed at how quickly they became homeless.
I'd get rid of that nest if II were you.
    Just sayin'

  2. Thank you for your post. We already thought about this and will not be using those lights either.

I look forward to your comments and contributions
